Would I qualify for Irish citizenship?

Would I qualify for Irish citizenship? My mother acquired citizenship by descent from her grandfather or great grandfather before I was born and just renewed her passport. If your mother was an Irish citizen (not just someone entitled to claim Irish citizenship, but an actual Irish citizen) at the time you were born, then yes, probably. (Note that your mother couldnt have acquired citizenship on the basis of her great-grandfather, and only from her grandfather if he was born in Ireland, so you might want to double-check whatever story youve been told.)
