Perhaps you mean re - issue a Passport and not renew. The cost of re - issue to be paid with Application upfront is Rs. 1200/- for normal issue and Rs. 2000/- for Tatkal. You could add (I think) Rs. 50/- for SMS updates, if you so desire. The stated cost includes full processing at the PSK including Passport photo and bio checks like fingerprints etc and postage by Speed post.
