I am getting my passport renewed next week.?
ECR stands for Emigration Check Required. It is a very old regulation when non-skilled workers going abroad ran the risk of not returning and getting in to illegal emigration. However, If your existing passport already has a Non-ECR Stamp, then you do nt need any more documents as it is just a renewal of the existing passport. in case for the first time you are applying for non-ECR at the time of passport renewal, you need the certificate / marksheet of 10th class. Thats it.
