If your passport will be valid when you fly home, you wont have a problem in that regard. Strictly speaking, you shouldnt have a problem flying home on an expired passport, but you probably dont want to try that too much. Once youve got your new passport, the question will be whether your Hungarian student visa transfers electronically to it or otherwise. I cant imagine thered be much hassle, but its probably worthwhile to check with the appropriate authorities in Hungary before you leave - there may be a form to fill in or something.
