Do I need to renew my passport after a felony conviction?

Just to clarify your question: Does a felony conviction affect your current passport? No. You do not need to make any changes BECAUSE of a felony conviction. Your passport would only need to be renewed when it expires. Will you still be able to renew your passport AFTER a felony conviction? Yes. The conviction, itself, has no bearing on your ability to obtain or renew a passport. Will you have any difficulty USING your passport after a felony conviction? Maybe. It depends on the nature of the offense and the country you are traveling to but you may be barred from entering some countries for a period or permanently due to a felony conviction in the US.
