OCI cards are valid life long, however they are linked to your passport (present or past). The current legislation allows you to use a new passport, OCI card linked to old passport and the old passport. However when you turn 50, the OCI card must be re-issued. The next time you get a new passport, you can use the OCI (issued at age 50), along with the passport valid at the time OCI was issued (at 50). The process of re-issue of of OCI card varries from country to country.
