Can I travel to the Philippines even though my passport is expired?
If you are a Filipino citizen, with a Filipino passport, then yes. For everybody else (except for those foreigners with a permanent residence in the Philippines), the passport needs to be valid for at least six month after the end of your intended stay. As a foreigner, living in the Philippines, you can renew your passport at your embassy or consulate, but youll have to go to the Filipino immigration department afterwards with the new passport, to have your residency visa transferred from your old passport to the new one. As for travelling to the Philippines, the country currently does not admit tourists and does not issue tourist visa. The only people who can enter it now are Filipino citizens or their spouses, foreigners with a permanent resideny, who normally live in the Philippines and got caught by COVID-19 restriction while they were abroad, or foreigners on essential business in the Philippines.
